Garden Wedding

Kate and Matt's wedding on the 18th of February was one of my favourite kinds!

Hosted at Kate's family home/property in Oberon, it was the perfect venue for the couples ceremony and reception. With stunning views that really took your breath away and a flower garden that absolutely created the perfect space for a garden ceremony.

It made it the perfect summer wedding.

One of my favourite things about weddings is seeing personal touches added that mean something to the couple or their families. Kate and Matt had meat from their parents farm as part of the catering for their wedding, couple photos were taken amoungst the beautiful flower gardens that Kate's mother tirelessly planted and planned. The effort they went to was very evident and came together perfectly for heir big day.

I also love working with new vendors and I have to say that all the vendors Kate and Matt chose for their wedding team were absolutely a pleasure to work with. I have a motto when it comes to wedding day, we (vendors) all work together to get the job done. I don't see us as individual suppliers, I see it as parts of a business that on the day work together for the same end goal.

It was an absolute pleasure to coordinate this wedding but it wasn't without it's challenges! The weather definitely threw in some curve balls - we experienced 36 degree heat, followed by rain, strong wind, hail and finished the day off with a double rainbow and a beautiful sunset. I knew the weather was going to be challenging when I saw the forecast so I came prepared with large white umbrellas to offer guests during the sunshine and rain. I hadn't quite expected the hail but luckily, it hit just as guests were making their way into the reception. This did mean having to quickly pivot and arrange the bridal entrance while also ensuring food service could continue uninterrupted. We did have to temporarily set up a drinks station/bar inside so guests didn't have to go outside to the drinks van but it all went off without a hitch!

For Kate and Matt, I handled the wedding coordination on the day. This meant that the couple could relax, knowing all the vendors were contacted in the lead up to their wedding, knew exactly what to do and where to go on the day, and that everything would run smoothly.

Coordinating doesn't just mean I show up on the day, it also invloves me doing a site visit (yes, even on a private property), getting their list of vendors and making contact, then creating a detailed runsheet with bump-in, bump out and day schedules, along with floor plans, seating arrangements and more.

Beautiful words from Kate & Matt...

"Natalie was the best money we spent on our wedding. She put together the most detailed and best run sheet I could have imagined. She made so many background decisions that made the day run so smoothly. From organising the first look, running food, bringing us drinks, organising special moment for Matt and I to share to ourselves. She even trouble shoot the storm and hail that happened as we were suppose to make do our grand entrance into reception. I will recommend Natalie to every bride I come across as we were beyond blown away with the service that we received."
