This month we introduce Emma from Lavender Hill in Hartley. Emma creates beautiful grazing tables for weddings and events up here in the mountains and she even delivers home boxes so you can enjoy her delightful treats in the comfort of your own home.
We have seen Emma a lot setting up at weddings in the upper mountains and were not surprised! We are seeing a big trend in grazing tables for weddings. The most popular time seems to be during cocktail hour after the ceromony which allows guests to have a nibble on some local produce while the bridal party have photos and fill their bellies before the reception.
We had a quick chat to Emma to find out how she got started and what advice she has for couples when thinking of having a grazing station.
What inspired you to launch your business and create grazing tables and take-home platters ?
I was just about to go on maternity leave with Bub three and was looking for a job I was passionate about where I could work around my family.
I had made so many meaningful connections with vendors and Airbnb and accomodation owners(through Instagram), that I wanted to create catering, that would service the wedding and travel BlueMountains market - at the time there wasn’t much around and even to this day I’m one of the very little few who cater to the accomodation and Airbnb market up here.
My love of food, colour and people makes this job an absolute dream! I’m even growing my own herbs and flowers that adorn your boxes and tables!
What advice can you offer our couples for when they come to selecting a grazing table for their guests?
If you want a show stopper then definitely do a grazing table! It adds colour, drama and deliciousness that will have your guests talking long after the wedding. I would also suggest a graze for between reception and ceremony, bride and groom get a graze box to take away for photos and your guests can feast on the grazing table while waiting for your arrival pre dinner!
