Introducing Andy from Ministry Of DJs

How would you describe the service you offer?

Our mission at every wedding and event we play at is to light up the dancefloor and ensure all our guests have the time of their lives! The way we do this is by having qualified and experienced DJs behind the decks that know how to read a crowd and help deliver this experience.

We pride ourselves on offering a professional, approachable, and knowledgeable service and treat all of our clients like family and friends. All our DJs and musicians are immaculately presented, wedding party professionals who know how to get your party started, and keep the momentum going all night long.

We are a fresh, fun and creative agency who love what we do and are passionate about the events we deliver, the sounds we play and the memories we create on our dancefloors.

What advice do you have for our couples when putting together a playlist for their wedding?

Including a healthy mix of songs that are personal to the couple, songs your guests will love, bouncing ideas off your event manager and DJ, and just letting your hair down on the night of your wedding and trusting the DJ deliver the party of a lifetime!

Are there any other services that you provide?

We specialise in providing Sydney and Melbourne’s finest DJs and musicians for your special day. In addition, we can provide access to other live elements, including saxophone players or percussionists to accompany the DJ as well as acoustic performers.

We also provide MC services, lighting packages to liven up the dancefloor and a full state of the art audio package with every entertainment package.

What do you do to motivate the crowd if nobody is dancing?

We actually wrote a blog about this recently! Here are some tips:

  1. Ask guests to circle the dancefloor for the couples’ first dance

  2. Open the dancefloor to everyone straight after the couple’s first dance

  3. Use your wedding MC/DJ to motivate the crowd including announcing the ‘opening of the dancefloor’

  4. Dim the lights / Use good party lights

  5. Attempt to do the wedding formalities early
