Johnny and Yishus wedding

At the beginning of this month, I had the privilege of planning and coordinating Johnny and Yishu’s wedding at their property in the Blue Mountains.

The couple reached out to me on only a few short months before the big day and while I normally prefer a longer lead time, I couldn’t pass up the challenge. Johnny and Yishu lead very busy lives so I knew that if I was involved, they wouldn’t have to worry about any of the wedding planning.

It was a gorgeous Autumn day and the couple made a fantastic choice using their property - the panoramic view of the mountains were absolutely breathtaking. On the day itself, it was a little brisk but we had planned ahead with heat packs, blankets and hot drinks for guests on arrival and throughout the afternoon.

Over the last few years, I’ve noticed an increase in couples wanting to have their wedding on family properties instead of at traditional venues and it’s always a rewarding experience to bring their vision to life. If you are planning a wedding on a property, be mindful of extra costs to hire furniture, props and set up. The bonus is of course, because you are working with a blank canvas, the possibilities are endless.

We chose to work with the colours of the season, so all of the flowers used on the day were a gorgeous mix of yellows, burnt orange and pink tones. For the bridesmaids, they each had a bouquet made of just one type of flower - this is a pretty modern trend and we are here for it!

We had amazing vendors working on this wedding:
